European Industrial Bank
How to combine a seamless operation, supreme security and readiness to face any challenge? The answer is simple — to use cloud advantages with your own IT equipment. And here’s the story of why the European Industrial Bank (Europrombank) uses a hybrid IT infrastructure.
JSC “European Industrial Bank” is a universal financial institution providing a full range of banking services.
Stability and safety assurance
Ever since its foundation, the Europrombank works on providing every client with high level of service and personalized financial solutions. It has been dubbed as “Bank of the Year – 2024” according to national rankings. This accomplishment would have been impossible without a reliable IT infrastructure, which underpins all the bank’s internal and client-oriented services.
In compliance with the national requirements, JSC “European Industrial Bank” distributes its IT infrastructure across geographically distributed data centers. It allows for reaching a maximum fault tolerance of operations.
As the bank increased its size, introduced new services, and grew its client base, the IT team encountered the challenge of limited computational capacity on its own equipment. The existing technical resources were insufficient to maintain the required level of performance for the information systems. Operating under the national regulator’s guidelines, the bank needed a solution that ensured continuous operations, data backups and security. Diversifying risks to minimize potential threats was also a major objective. Migration to the cloud was chosen as the most cost-efficient and quick solution.
“Migration to the cloud has become a strategic decision driven by our goal to ensure uninterrupted operations, security, and scalability of services for our clients,” says Lyudmyla Surhuchova, Chair of the Board at the Europrombank JSC. “We decided to move part of our services to the cloud, adopting a hybrid approach to building our IT infrastructure.”
Hybrid IT infrastructure
The cloud provider was selected through a procurement process, with GigaCloud ending up as a top contender. The provider offered the necessary security standards and a high level of technical support.
JSC “European Industrial Bank” migrated a significant part of its information services to a VMware-based cloud platform.
The adoption of a hybrid IT infrastructure enabled the bank to maintain smooth business processes during emergencies. Specialists now have the ability to quickly scale resources and transfer workloads between data centers and the cloud on demand. Data synchronization across multiple platforms prevents system downtime during critical situations.
Risk mitigation and resource optimization
The transition to GigaCloud has provided the bank with significant advantages in terms of flexibility, responsiveness to growing demands, and risk minimization. Virtualization has allowed for rapid scaling of resources, a crucial factor in maintaining uninterrupted operations amid the rapidly changing business landscape. The bank has significantly reduced technical failures, namely minimized downtime caused by equipment issues.
Ensuring the seamless operation of critical systems that generate revenue for the bank, even during periods of high load, has been an especially important outcome.
“I’d like to highlight the excellent work of GigaCloud’s technical support specialists, who respond promptly to our requests, and their customer service team, always ready to assist with any issues and keep up a high standard of service. Thanks to their professionalism and attention to detail, our migration to the cloud was as smooth and secure as possible,” says Lyudmyla Surhuchova, Chair of the Board at JSC “European Industrial Bank”.
