THE CHALLENGE

IP management company wanted to automate manual, labor-intensive processes with online monitoring application

Our client wanted to automate its legal analysis department’s manual, labor-intensive processes to identify and remediate unauthorized IP violations across different online platforms, such as plagiarism and trademark infringement. The ideal monitoring solution would provide the company’s legal team with functionality, like domain page scanning for keyword matches and web page change tracking, to safeguard the online brands of its customers efficiently. Because our client did not have an internal IT department and had negative experiences with IT outsourcing, company leaders wanted a highly-skilled application development partner with deep agile experience, a proven Scrum methodology, and exceptional UI/UX design capabilities.

The project team built and deployed an intelligent brand protection application that automatically initiated enforcement actions customized for each end-user client. The solution automated brand monitoring interactions with online intermediaries, such as hosting providers, registrars, platforms, and marketplaces. The built-in case management system featured an intuitive user interface that stored relevant client case data and facilitated communications between the UST software development team, our IP monitoring client, and third-party organizations pertinent to the project. Robust reporting gave company leaders and customer account managers data on case statistics, compliance rates, and audience insights.
