Our client, a global leader in IT and financial services for the healthcare sector, approached us to enhance their web platform by adding new functionality. The platform, originally built on .NET Framework 4.7, was no longer sufficient to meet their evolving business needs. Given the platform’s widespread use in inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities, and management companies across the U.S., migrating to .NET Core was the ideal solution to modernize and future-proof the software.
Unlike the .NET Framework, .NET Core offers enhanced productivity, flexibility, and performance. Its cross-platform capabilities and modular architecture made it particularly well-suited for this project. Leveraging our extensive experience with migration projects, we set out to fully replicate the platform’s functionality in the new system, select appropriate libraries and tools, review documentation, and develop additional features along the way.
While approximately 80-90% of the code was converted automatically, our team invested significant effort in preserving business logic, refactoring legacy code, fixing bugs, and integrating new features to ensure a seamless transition.
As a result, our client realized significant time and cost savings on software maintenance, enabling them to focus on new initiatives. The upgraded backend also improved workload efficiency and established a robust foundation for the subsequent migration of their AngularJS frontend.
