Two Mobile Apps and A Web Marketplace for a Car Selling Platform

The platform is one of the largest vehicle inventories that stands out due to a detailed walk-around video-centric experience.

Learn how our client got:

  • Two mobile apps – Android and IOS built cross platform
  • Web portal with augmented reality feature
  • Instagram-like design and features
  • x3 better apps performance
  • Database optimization

Challenge

The initial inquiry from our client was to extend their team with a frontend developer to create a web application. After a while, the client also requested an Android developer to speed up the development of the mobile app. At OTAKOYI, we care about the most crucial thing for every project — delivery, so we had to take responsibility and make several suggestions for our client. We understood that for a successful launch of three apps, the development process should be revised and enhanced.

Our approach

Our main goal was to ensure smooth collaboration between backend, frontend, and mobile developers, as they shared a great deal of the solution, and their actions influenced one another. We also set up an automated CI/CD process to streamline development.

Another priority was solution performance. Based on interactions and a plenty of media, the client required fast loading, so we had to think it through. And of course, we thought out the way to incorporate Unity-based app parts that should have implemented augmented reality features.

“Instagram-Like” Design

Even though the client had some design materials at the beginning of our cooperation, the solution became more complicated over time due to additional features. With deep expertise in UI/UX design, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to make the solution ultra-user-friendly.

Interactive, fast and efficient

It’s always a blast to participate in something outstanding. Our client decided to change the overall approach to selling cars online and make it similar to surfing Instagram reels. With such an amount of media, we decided to make sure this experience would be satisfying in terms of speed and video quality.

AR feature

Our client has this great idea to enable buyers to take a look at the car virtually using their smartphone camera. That’s why we teamed up with a contractor who provided Unity app development which we then incorporated into the app.

This way, potential buyers can have a closer look at their dream car in their yard or even check if it fits into their garage.
