No Notes, No Calls – The QR code that keeps drivers connected

Project Overview

Driving is not just about convenience — it often involves situations where quick communication between drivers is critically important. Whether it’s an accidental obstruction, a need to report an issue, or an emergency, instant communication can make all the difference.

Our client came to us with an idea and a design, and we quickly got to work on the concept, architecture, and development. Within a month, we had a functional prototype, and by the second month, we were refining the interface and preparing for the App Store launch. Three months into the project, the first release went live. From there, we gathered feedback from early users and implemented updates. The entire journey, from initial discussions to a stable release, was completed in just five months.

The Challenge

Most drivers have faced situations where they need to quickly contact a car owner but have no way to do so. Traditional paper notes left under windshield wipers often get lost, damaged, or seem unreliable. On the other hand, publicly displaying a phone number poses a privacy risk. There was a need for a safe, convenient, and technology-driven solution.

Solution

The Smart Sticker is a QR code that enables safe communication with the vehicle owner without revealing personal data. Drivers can scan the code and send a ping, which is instantly delivered to the car owner.

Reliable Technical Implementation:
We developed a filtering and request-limiting mechanism for the contact page and API to prevent spam and ensure efficient, secure communication without abuse.

The server architecture is optimized for high loads, ensuring stable performance and instant notification delivery, regardless of the number of users.

Data Protection:
The app ensures the protection of personal data by collecting only the necessary information and sharing it exclusively among users of the service.

Moreover, the app never displays the driver’s phone number. All communication happens through a secure internal system, eliminating unauthorized access to contact details.

Use Cases

  1. Blocked Vehicle: If you accidentally block another car, Smart Sticker allows the driver to reach you quickly and easily.
  2. Minor Accidents: If you scratch another car and want to take responsibility, you can contact the owner.
  3. Issue Warnings: Notify a driver about headlights left on or an alarm going off.
  4. Emergencies: If police or emergency services need to move your car, they can contact you immediately.

Functionality

How does the app work?

  • Order a sticker pack – Visit our website and order your set of Smart Stickers.
  • Apply the sticker – Place the sticker on your windshield.
  • Set up your account  – Open the app, scan the sticker, and link it to your profile.
  • Scan & connect – When someone scans the sticker, they can easily contact you via message, ping, or call.

Summary

Smart Stickers provide an innovative solution for drivers, enabling safe and convenient communication on the road without the need for paper notes or publicly shared phone numbers. They guarantee privacy while allowing drivers to resolve issues quickly and securely.

During development, we focused on building core functionality, particularly the prototype and server architecture. In just five months, we delivered a fully functional app, which was published in the App Store three months after the project launch.

We prioritized speed and efficiency throughout the development process, ensuring a stable and high-performance service.

Our next steps

Future plans include integration with SMS and messaging apps, call capabilities, and connections to local rental and parking services.

At this stage, the client is fully focused on promotion and investment attraction, as they no longer have to worry about the quality of the product—we have taken full responsibility for its technical execution and implementation.
