The company Kuva Ltd is a payment institution authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the United Kingdom. Its main purpose is to provide money transfer services.

One of the company’s goals is to improve the accessibility of financial services for people in different parts of the world, especially in developing countries, where many individuals still lack access to traditional financial services.

About project

The Kuvaсash Remit project is a service for instant money transfers from the UK to receive the transfer in USD currency in African countries.

The solution is cross-platform, and money transfers can be done online: through the website or using the mobile iOS or Android application.

Challenges

The client’s idea was to create a solution for fast money transfers from the UK to Zimbabwe, with payouts in USD currency. They needed to develop and launch a secure and convenient online service for international transfers.

Customer’s main requirements:

• Design an online service for conducting banking and financial transactions for money transfers
• The solution must be secure and safe for service customers 
• In addition to the website, the service should work on iOS and Android devices
• It should integrate with existing banking institutions and their ATMs with Remittance.

Solutions

The team of New Line Technologies worked on the project “turnkey”.

• The back-end and front-end were designed by the NLT team
• A separate portal was created for Kuva company employees to monitor and manage money transfer disbursements
• An application was developed for iOS and Android using Flutter
• The architecture was designed to deploy multiple instances with customizable functionality for different domains. At the same time, all instances share the same codebase and server instance. This means that all instances load their code from the same source, but their styles and available features change based on the domain. As the solution is a single-page application, it reduces hosting resource consumption and simplifies the development and deployment of new product versions.

• Fast user verification (KYC implemented through the SumSub service)
• Protection against fraudsters to prevent and detect fraudulent activities (anti-fraud)
• Instant money transfer after transaction payment through the bank or with a payment card
• Accepting payments and cash withdrawals
• Issuing money to the recipient via Redeem code and passport
• Arranging cash delivery by the company’s courier
• Automated notifications to “Sender” and “Recipient” via email and SMS.
